Wellness and Connection (WAC) Group Support
Wellness & Connection Group Description: Combining the power of peer support with expert facilitation by a licensed professional, these are small, closed groups of 6-10 members focusing on their stress management and emotional health.
Duration: Fifty minute sessions will take place bi-weekly for three months via Zoom. To accommodate busy schedules, some groups meet outside normal business hours.
Cohorts: Groups will comprise of professionals in similar roles or groups of professionals facing similar issues, and may look as follows:
- Wellness and Connection Group for Parents
- Wellness and Connection Group for People who have Lost Loved Ones
- Wellness and Connection Group for Child Care Teams
- Wellness and Connection Group for Administrators
- Wellness and Connection Group for RNs
- Wellness and Connection Group for CNAs and MAs
- Wellness and Connection Group for Behavioral Health Professionals
- Wellness and Connection Group for Community Advocates
- Wellness and Connection Group for Healthcare Professionals (Paraprofessionals, Advocates, Patient Services Representatives, Etc.)
- Wellness and Connection Group for Physicians
- Wellness and Connection Group for Healthcare Leadership and HR
Enrollment: To sign up, call 1-800-769-9819 and request to schedule a WAC consultation. During the consultation, you and the clinician will talk about the group, what you’re hoping to get out of it, and your meeting availability. No prep needed. Once we form a well-aligned group, we will be in touch to introduce your facilitator and group members.
Requirement: We ask members to attend meetings on time and be fully present with their cameras on and distractions limited.
Curriculum:
Weeks 1-2: Intros and Norms
Your facilitator will establish group norms and guide you in building a sense of connection.
We may ask you to share:
- A personal strength and weakness.
- Highs and lows of your week.
- A misconception people have about you.
Weeks 3-4: Exploration and Growth
As a group, you'll explore each member’s feelings and thoughts and examine how they impact that member. Members start to explore new ways of thinking and being as a person and group member, with your facilitator as an encouraging guide.
We may ask you to share and explore:
- Your relationship with stress.
- Your relationship with others.
- Your values and how they do or don’t manifest in your life.
- The primary story that you tell yourself.
Weeks 5-6: Reflection This is a time to reflect on the ways members have grown and changed, looking back at the lessons of these first sessions. Members typically use this time to set goals and an intention for the future.
We may ask you to share and explore:
- What you appreciate the most about each other.
- Your intentions for continued personal growth.
These services are available for NO COST from now through May, 2022. The State of Maine’s StrengthenME program and Work Force EAP have partnered to bring these services to healthcare workers for free.
