Martha “Muffie” Ellis graduated from the University of New England in 1995 with her Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW). Prior to gaining her MSW degree, Muffie worked at the Augusta Mental Health Institute (AMHI) for 17 years as an LPN and Psychiatric Social Worker. Muffie began her work as an Employee Assistance Professional (EAP) 27 years ago and was a supervisor for nearly 20 of those years. Muffie provides a wide range of EAP services including short-term assessment/intervention, supervisor consultation, trainings, and critical incident responses. Muffie has served on the Maine Employee Assistance Professionals Association as VP and President, and on the Maine Commission for Mental Health established during deinstitutionalization in the late 80s.
